On average, Canadian drinkers consume 25 drinks per month and consume alcohol 10 days per month. Per capita annual consumption of alcohol in Canada is over 10 litres of pure alcohol per person, which is more than Americans but only 50% to 60% of what some Eastern European countries consume.
For the most part, Canadians drink Canadian beer. 85% of beer consumed in Canada is produced here. Residents of Newfoundland and Labrador, Quebec and the Prairie provinces consumed more beer than the Canadian average, while British Columbians consumed the lowest amount.
