In Saskatchewan, a hoodie is known as a bunny hug!

Only in Saskatchewan is a hooded sweatshirt known as a bunny hug. We think that's adorable! The origins of the word are a mystery (if you have insights, share with us here by posting a comment!). Outside of Saskatchewan, most Canadians are not familiar with the term bunny hug (which can also be written as "bunny-hug" or "bunnyhug"), and generally refer to their hooded sweatshirts as "hoodies" - how unoriginal!

A century ago, there was a bunny overpopulation in Saskatchewan, and residents turned the pelts of Peter Rabbit’s great-great-great-grandparents into a wrap that loosely resembles what is known today as a bunny hug.
